Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They help sites remember your preferences, understand how you use them, and deliver relevant content. This policy also covers similar technologies — local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels — that work in similar ways. When we say "cookies" in this document, we mean all of these technologies unless we say otherwise.
2. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies to keep Impact Spins running smoothly, to remember your consent and age-verification choices, and to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We also use anonymised analytics to measure which pages are visited most. We do not use cookies to build personal profiles or to track you across other websites without your consent.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Keep the site operational. Stores your cookie-consent decision and age-gate acceptance. No consent required — these are essential for the service to function. | __cc_v1 (consent record), __age_ok (age gate) | Session to 12 months |
| Performance / Analytics | Anonymous measurement of traffic — page views, session duration, device type. No IP addresses stored. Used to understand how players use Alliance Hall so we can improve it. Set only with your consent. | __cf_bm (Cloudflare bot management), Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon | Up to 30 days |
| Functional | Remembers UI preferences you set — for example, sound mute state in the game widget, or leaderboard display preference. Improves your experience on return visits. Set only with your consent. | Local-storage keys prefixed is_pref_ | Up to 12 months |
| Advertising / Targeting | When a visitor arrives via a paid Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising campaign, those platforms may set cookies to measure ad performance and prevent duplicate impressions. We do not use these cookies to build behavioural profiles. Set only with your consent. | Google Ads cookies (Google Privacy Policy); Microsoft Advertising (Microsoft Privacy Statement) | Up to 13 months |
4. Lawful Basis (UK GDPR + PECR)
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of legitimate interest — they are essential for the service to function and do not require your consent. All other cookie categories — performance/analytics, functional, and advertising/targeting — are set only with your explicit opt-in consent, which you provide via the cookie banner when you first visit the site. You may withdraw consent at any time by following the instructions in Sections 5 and 6 below.
5. How to Manage Your Cookies on Impact Spins
When you first visit the site, a banner offers you two options: "Accept all cookies" or "Essential only". Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key __cc_v1. To change your preference, you can clear that key using your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → socialimpactmarketingalliance.com), or simply clear your browser's site data for our domain. On your next visit the banner will reappear and you can make a fresh choice.
6. How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser
Every major browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies. Use the links below for step-by-step instructions:
Note: blocking all cookies may affect how some parts of the site work, such as saving your leaderboard position.
7. Third-Party Cookies and Services
When you consent, the following third-party services may set cookies:
- Cloudflare — provides our CDN, DDoS protection, and anonymised web analytics. Cloudflare may set
__cf_bmfor bot management. Cloudflare Privacy Policy. - Google — if you arrive via a Google Ads campaign, Google may set performance-measurement cookies. We use Google Ads strictly to promote Impact Spins as a free social game. Google Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Advertising — if you arrive via a Microsoft/Bing Ads campaign, Microsoft may set performance-measurement cookies. Microsoft Privacy Statement.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and only strictly necessary cookies are set during your visit. We do not currently make a specific technical response to the older DNT (Do Not Track) header, but GPC — which is legally recognised under several data-protection frameworks — achieves the same outcome on our site.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our technology or legal obligations change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
